Recently, while partaking of a fine breakfast, looking out at a flock of mallard ducks doing their thing in Lake Ontario's Horsey Bay, I chanced to witness the abduction of one of the said ducks by an enormous eagle. (I think it was an eagle. Regardless, it was huge, menacing and clearly, hungry.) The poor duck was snatched right out of the water and carried off to its doom. I can only hope his end was swift. So in honour of the mallard who met his maker in this brief National Geographic moment, I created a set of four Mosaic Mallard Coasters.
